The Plague

Yep....It has hit our home! We can't seem to get all of us well at the same time! I hear February will be the hardest hit for the cold and flu season but come on already! In the past 3 weeks, I went to Urgent Care and was taken by ambulance to the ER for an allergic reaction to something that we have no idea what it was! Adam has had the flu, Shaylee has had the flu, a cold, and a double ear infection, plus her exzema has been real bad, Savannah has had a cold and a high fever from her immunizations, and Nathan has had the flu and an ear infection that won't go away and thrush (fun for mom too)! IN JUST 3 WEEKS!!!! Crazy! It could be worse I guess....we haven't had RSV or pneumonia like many in our ward.

Things are going good here other than illness. We celebrated Savannah's 2nd birthday at the park with her aunts and cousins. Adam and I went on our 1st date in.....how long???? (for V-Day, thank you Skyler for babysitting!) Shaylee took her 1st karate class yesterday. We were worried that she wouldn't do well with Daddy as her instructor. But she LOVED it and did great! She was beaming the whole class! She grew up watching classes and never being allowed on the floor, so she just ate it up that she was old enough to participate finally. Savannah screamed the entire class...she didn't understand why Shaylee was allowed on the mats and not her. Nathan is almost crawling finally! I have thought he was going to for a couple of months now. He kind of army crawls....sort of....He is so fun!

Hope you all had a fabulous Valentine's Day! Stay well and happy!

Why do we live in AZ?????

I have no idea what the draw to Arizona is! You get 85 degree weather in February and it doesn't end until Thanksgiving! You get horrible allergies at least twice a year.....The things I do for my husband! I'm only part serious. Back in July, we moved our karate school as you will all remember....at that time, Adam broke THREE mirrors! We have had nothing but bad luck since then. Our school is losing students like crazy because of the economy and jobs lost, we keep racking up medical bills, and it just keeps coming and coming..... Seriously, I know we are so blessed. We have a great business, a beautiful home in a safe, clean neighborhood....WE ARE SO LUCKY. Many of our friends have had to walk away from their homes..it is so sad.

The kids are doing fabulous! Shaylee thrives in preschool and Savannah is loving beign able to play outside on the swingset. Nathan is growing up so fast! He will be 7 months next week and Savannah will be 2 that week as well! It goes soooooo fast! Adam is going crazy trying to draw new students into the school and I am going crazy with 3 little ones! But life is still good. It is amazing the peace that faith and the gospel brings!

Oops!

I left off the rest of our trip...ooops! I hear kids crying and my brain shuts off. We also stopped overnight in Las Vegas to visit Adam's family there. We stayed at the "castle" AKA Excalibur, and Shaylee and Savannah loved it. We had a great view of the running roller coaster at New York New York and they loved to watch it go!
Well, I am doing a little better at this....We had a great Christmas and hope you all did too. We went to Utah for almost a week and spent Christmas with my sister and her little family in Springville. Unfortunately, we hit black ice just outside of Cedar City sending us spinning off the freeway! Thank goodness that they had already had a few storms that left behind a lot of snow....I am positive that without it we would have rolled our truck! As it was, we slid about 30 ft off the road and had to call a tow truck. We are all OK and the truck received minor damage. But it took us 18 hours to make an 11 hour drive with 3 little ones in the truck! We had snow all the way from Beaver in addition to the snow outside of Cedar City (about a 15 mile stretch). It was definitely an adventure!

The girls really enjoyed Utah and getting to know their cousins better. Deb's kids are closest in age to our kids out of my side of the family. Adam took Shaylee sledding on Christmas with her uncle and cousins, which she LOVED! She would only use the the fastest sled and would not let anyone on it with her. I asked her when they got back, "Did you have fun?" To which she replied, "YES!!!!!" I asked, "Do you want to go again? She answered, "Noooo, it was too hard!" (referring to climbing the hill over and over again) We also went to the Festival of Lights in Spanish Fork, which was really neat, visited Grandma Sandy, Great Aunt Merry, and Great Uncle Jim is SLC, and blessed Ricky.

The day after we returned, the scissors were left down and Shaylee cut her hair! (Our 1st experience with this) Of course, it was New Year's Eve night and no one was open for business until 2 days later!

Well, we hope that you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Years! Love you all!

I am not very good at this blog thing! I don't know how you all find the time to do it! We are all doing well and are looking forward to Christmas. Adam gets 2 weeks off....so I am extremely excited! Last week, we took the kids to a PolarFest in our community. The kids got to ride carnival rides, ponies, etc. It was a great family outing. I think we are staying home for Christmas....there is a possibility that we may go to Utah......we will see. My sister asked Adam to bless her little boy so we are looking into a last minute trip since Adam has the time off. I hope that you all have a fun and safe Christmas! We love you all!

Going Crazy

Hello all! Sorry it has been so long. Things have been crazy around here. My mom is still here and is staying until after Thanksgiving. Adam is working his tail off trying to get the business back up to speed. With all of our medical adventures lately, it has been sorely neglected and boy are we feeling it! I am doing much better but am still recovering. Shaylee is thriving in preschool. We just had her 4th birthday party at our house. We think that poor Savannah may have sprained her ankle yesterday while playing in our backyard. Nathan rolled from stomach to back for the 1st time this week and is starting to laugh and smile at everything. Not much else is happening. I hope you are all anticipating a delicious Thanksgiving feast. Have a fabulous one!

We have had a crazy couple of months! We moved our business, added a new family member, Adam was hospitalized at the beginning of September for 6 days for a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic, and DeAnna had a spinal tap done almost 2 weeks ago which has caused non-stop headaches, mostly migraines. Poor Adam had to take the kids trick-or-treating by himself. Adam is all better but DeAnna is still on bed rest until the headaches clear. Adam is heading to Tennessee this week for training so De's mom is coming to stay indefinitely until De is all better and can resume normal activities. All things considering, we have been looked out for and blessed so much.
